Harold Camping Fails Again on his Judgement Day Prediction

By A Correspondent ZimEye

Published: October 23, 2011

An American ‘Prophet’ who deceived the world on a Friday October 21 rapture day prophecy has gone into hiding since the day of his alleged prophecy (Friday 21st October) which passed without a single incident.

The 90-year-old Harold Camping’s embarrassment, the fourth in 23 years, like the previous predictions, has passed without fulfilment.

“Maybe he meant to predict the death of Gaddafi instead!”, some Zimbabweans joked on social networking website Face Book, although Gaddafi died a day earlier.

Soon after his May 21 prophecy failed, Camping soon announced:
‘On May 21, of 2011, mankind entered into the Day of Judgment. This “day” will last for 5 months (153 days) until October 21, 2011,’ he stated in an article to his followers.
A report by the Reuters news agency said Camping has now “retired” as a radio host but remained chairman of the board of Family Stations Inc.

Camping had little to say when he answered the door of his home in Alameda, wearing a bathrobe and leaning on a walker.

“We’re not having a conversation,” he said, shaking his head with a chuckle. “There’s nothing to report here.”

It was also reported that his group is still meeting regularly with no loss of enthusiasm. Municipal records show a Sunday prayer group led by Camping, the Alameda Bible Fellowship, has continued to meet weekly in a large ground-floor room of the Veterans Memorial Building leased by the city’s Recreation and Park Department.

Marcia Tsang, a facilities coordinator for the department, said receipts show Camping’s group rented the space since at least 1996, paying the standard fee of $45 an hour. The room remains assigned to his fellowship under an evergreen reservation that extends beyond this week, she said.

Camping claimed that the end would come silently. He said: “I really am beginning to think as I’ve restudied these matters that there’s going to be no big display of any kind. The end is going to come very, very quietly.”

It was reported that Camping’s end of the world prediction attempts actually number up to 12 times.

My Comment: I feel sorry for Camping, like so many of us, He longs to see the return of Christ. His great love of seeing Jesus has sent him down a road that only God himself knows. “But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only. Matthew 24:36

It is not just Camping, we all like to declare through prophecy what is about to transpire, however, No one knows for sure the full details of what all is about to come upon this world. Yes we are witnessing many very strong signs that declare we have entered into a season of intense birth pangs that must come just before we do see the return of Christ. But these are not signs of the rapture, but signs given to us by Jesus Himself to alert His people as to what must be before He does return. Therefore, date setting is both wrong and unbiblical, only by the signs are we to watch and know.

Matthew 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Matthew 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

Matthew 24:6 And you shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that you be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

For those who follow this newsletter or current events, not a day goes by now that some new development happens somewhere in the world that declares we are close to seeing what Camping and all Christians await for. All these things are the "beginnings of sorrows" and will continue to increase in frequency and intensity until Christ returns.

”In the Olivet prophecy, Jesus gave the sequence of events leading up to the “time of the end.” He was asked about the sign of His coming and the end of the world.

Notice what Jesus described:

And Jesus answered and said to them: Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, I am the Christ, and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places Matthew 24:4-7.

The order is as follows: First we see religious deception, then wars and rumors of wars. Next, we see famines, pestilences, and earthquakes. What follows? “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake” Matthew 24:9. This time of trouble is reemphasized in verses 21 and 22: “For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.” This is a reference to the Great Tribulation. But will Christ return before this time to rapture the saints?

In Matthew 24:29-30, Jesus said something very significant. He stated: “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” The sequence here is plain. Christ will not return until after the Tribulation! There is no indication He will return “secretly” to rapture His saints before the Tribulation!

What has happened is that many have confused the Tribulation with the Day of the Lord. They have lumped together the two events as if they were one and the same. What is the difference?

The Tribulation is Satan’s wrath upon the Church and the world. It is a time of martyrdom when the saints will be delivered, afflicted, and killed Matthew 24:9. Daniel described this time period: “At that time Michael shall stand up, the great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; And there shall be a time of trouble, Such as never was since there was a nation, Even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone who is found written in the book . . .” Daniel 12:1-2. This same period is also described in Revelation 12:12-13, 17:” Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time. Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male Child . . . . And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.”

By contrast, the Day of the Lord is the time of God’s wrath upon a sinning world. In time sequence, the Day of the Lord follows the Tribulation. How can we tell? Notice again Matthew 24: 29: “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.” The prophet Joel tells us: “And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: Blood and fire and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD” Joel 2:30-31. The Bible speaks of this time period more than 30 times.

Notice, for example, Isaiah 2:12, 17-19:

For the day of the LORD of hosts Shall come upon everything proud and lofty, Upon everything lifted up — And it shall be brought low . . . . The loftiness of man shall be bowed down, And the haughtiness of men shall be brought low; The LORD alone will be exalted in that day, But the idols He shall utterly abolish. They shall go into the holes of the rocks, And into the caves of the earth, From the terror of the LORD And the glory of His majesty, When He arises to shake the earth mightily.

See also, Revelation 6:12-13, 15-17:

I looked when He opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood. And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind . . . . And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, and said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?

Jesus Christ will return at the climax of this period. This is why we read in Matthew 24:29-30: “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” Christ does not come before the Tribulation, but after it-at the climax of the Day of the Lord.” (1)

2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.

So as I line up current events with Bible Prophecy, I believe we are on the very threshold of the great tribulation where every Christians life is about to be tested to the max. I believe that Christ’s return is a few years off yet, but only a very short few years.

Psalm 84…Monday October 24th, 2011

God’s living presence is our greatest joy. His radiant presence helps us grow in strength, grace and glory

Look upon our shield, O God;
look with favor on your anointed one.

Better is one day in your courts
than a thousand elsewhere;
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
than dwell in the tents of the wicked.

For the LORD God is a sun and shield;
the LORD bestows favor and honor;
no good thing does he withhold
from those whose walk is blameless.

O LORD Almighty,
blessed is the man who trusts in you.

Psalm 84: 9-12

There is a Treasure chest of wealth

in these verses.

These words depict a dramatic passion for God.

Because God has set eternity in our hearts, no earthbound person, position or possession can truly satisfy us. We were created for something higher than these.

As Augustine often quoted in His insights about God

"You have made us for yourself, and our hearts are restless until they find their rest in you"

Consider God's overall provision and protection and we abide In Christ with His words abiding in us as the Holy Spirit reveals, quickens, leads and so guides us.

We are children of God whose Love has stretched forth to bring restoration and acceptance.

May our walk reflect our relationship with you Lord Jesus and may our focus be ultimately on You.

God reaches forth to illuminate, invigorate, warm and sustain us. He protects and defends all who trust in Him. He reaches forth to plant and to also bring forth the fruit thereof. That which the Lord has started He shall bring forth to completion.

To be blessed involves dwelling in a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ thus Praising God and being receptive to His strength. There is an open response to the ways of God working in our heart whereby we are refreshed and renewed. Trust involves relying or putting our confidence in God knowing He does hear and answer our prayers which ultimately affects our walk in life as we are receptive to His light that awakens our spirit and so imparts the light of life to our soul and subsequent reactions

O Jesus Let us be a little more tender to that which You represent and can ultimately do both in us and likewise through us for our soul yearns for You that we might so dwell and thus be strengthened as we so listen and so respond for our trust is in you alone dear Lord
