Luke 14…Monday January 23rd, 2012
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land
11 Chronicles 7:14
There are 4 conditions for forgiveness
HUMBLE YOURSELF BY ADMITTING YOUR SINS
PRAY TO GOD, ASKING FOR FORGIVENESS
SEEK GOD CONTINUALLY
TURN FROM SINFUL BEHAVIOR
True repentance is more than talk but it is changed behavior
FOLLOW THESE STEPS LEAD TO FORGIVENESS WITH GOD ANSWERING OUR PRAYERS
JESUS TEACHES ABOUT SEEKING HUMILITY
Luke 14:7-14
Jesus advised people not to rush for the best places at a feast. People today are just as eager to raise their social status
WHOM DO WE TRY TO IMPRESS?
LOOK FOR A PLACE WHERE YOU CAN SERVE BEING SENSITIVE TO GOD’S LEADING AND DIRECTION
How can we humble ourselves?
Truly humble people compare themselves only with Christ, realizing their sinfulness and understanding their limitations.
On the other hand they also recognize their gifts and strengths and abilities and are willing to use them as Christ so directs.
HUMILITY IS A REALISTIC ASSESSMENT and COMMITMENT to SERVE
Luke 14:11
GOD’S KINGDOM IS OPEN TO EVERYONE WHEREBY WE CAN BE HIS HANDS EXTENDED
THERE IS A FEAST WE ARE ALL INVITED TO
A man sitting at the table with Jesus envisioned the glory of God’s kingdom but he did not yet understand how to have a part in it. Many people turned down the invitation because the timing was inconvenient. Do we resist or delay our response with reasonable excuses.
Nevertheless God’s invitation is the most important event in our lives no matter how inconvenient it may seem.
DO NOT RESIST RESPONDING TO GOD’S CALL
Luke 14:15-24
GOD SENT HIS SON TO CONFIRM THAT THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS AVAILABLE TO WHOSOEVER AND BIDS US ALL TO SO RESPOND AND ENTER IN TO SO PARTAKE THEREOF
God is calling us to join Him in a feast
THE WEDDING SUPPER OF THE LAMB
Revelations 19:6-9
but
Are we in a relationship with Him and is He Lord as well as Savior?
Luke 14:16
FOLLOWING CHRIST MEANS TOTAL SUBMISSION
WHAT IS THE DEPTH THAT GOD CALLS US TO?
Luke 14:27
We each have a cross to carry as we so focus on Christ and thus respond
Luke 14:26-27
We are to be the influence God intended affecting every aspect of life we encounter here and now.
May our presence release a new atmosphere into the lives of others as we are unswerving in our commitment to Christ’s kingdom.
Luke 14:34
Luke 14:1-6 reveals how the Pharisees carefully watched and observed Jesus and as Jesus had wisdom in that which was transpiring and how to respond we too can have this wisdom as we are sensitive to the Holy Spirit so abiding in Christ with His Word saturating our inner most being; thereby being sensitive to His leading in all things
THERE IS A QUALITY OF HIS KINGDOM THAT WE ARE BIDDEN TO SO PARTAKE OF
Selfish aspects we let go of relying totally on Jesus realizing His purpose for our life is of utmost importance
Luke 14:26-33

Psalm 22...Psalm of the Cross
Take time to read and digest the truths thereof
Within this psalm are many prophecies that were fulfilled in the death of Jesus.
The ridicule of the people is predicted
Psalm 22:7-8
with the same ridicule spoken by the chief priests at the cross Matthew 27:36-44
Psalm 22:16 specifically predicts that His hands and feet would be pierced being fulfilled at the death of Jesus
John 20:25
The casting of lots for Jesus clothing Psalm 22:18 and fulfilled in John 19:23-24
Possibly the most significant is Psalm 22:1 which Jesus quoted from the Cross Matthew 27:46
We see God himself turning away from His beloved Son who is bearing the sin of the world.
JESUS IS BEARING MAN’S JUDGMENT
THE JUDGMENT OF DEATH AND THE JUDGMENT OF SEPERATION FROM GOD
At this moment Jesus is experiencing the darkest moment of His life and he bore it for us all
Psalm 41:9
Isaiah 53:1-12
Psalm 22:1-31
PRAISE IS THE PATHWAY TO GOD’S PRESENCE
When you feel alone, deserted or depressed; Praise in song or testimony of God’s goodness in your life will cause the presence of God to be released
HE INHABITS OR REMAINS ABIDING WITH US AS WE PARTNER WITH HIM IN A GROWING RELATIONSHIP.
Faith and Trust leads to Deliverance from satanic harassments, torment or bondage.
3 Words to remember
PRAISE…TRUST…DELIVERED
Psalm 22:3-4
Psalm 18:3
Psalm 47:7
WORSHIP and the presence of the KINGDOM
The presence of God’s Kingdom power is directly related to the practice of praise. Whenever we exalt His name He is ready to manifest His Kingdom power in the way most appropriate as we invite His authority to invade the situation.
Would we invite Him into the situations that His will would so transpire.
BID HIM WELCOME and SO ENCOUNTER THE LORD ANEW
Prophesies concerning Christ in the Psalms are numerous being fulfilled in the New Testament
Trust brings deliverance Psalm 22:4
You O Lord are my strength Psalm 22:19
I will declare Your name and praise you Psalm 22:22
They who seek the Lord will praise him Psalm 22:26
Remember and turn to the Lord Psalm 22:27
CHRIST IS A REALITY and O THAT WE WOULD PARTAKE of the TREASURES OF LIFE THAT HE ALONE MAKES POSSIBLE
COME ENTER IN AND BE SAVED WALKING WITH THE LORD TODAY
