Deceptions & Hidden Prophecy

Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” (Genesis 6:3 ESV)

This verse being placed just before the account of Noah and the flood, it is logical to interpret its meaning in the light of the flood. However when viewing this verse in context with the flood or Noah’s time, Bible theologians seem to differ greatly on its true meaning. Some of the different interpretations are,

· God’s Spirit will be removed from man in 120 years

As we look at the lives of the Patriarchs we can see that God has never removed His Spirit from those whom sought Him.

· The spirit can be translated as breath of God which will be removed

There are verses where spirit should be translated breath, but seeing that through Noah’s lineage we still have the breath of God breathing through our nostrils today, this seems a highly unlikely explanation.

· Man’s lifespan will be cut to 120 years

Before the flood it was normal to live an average of 900 years and after the flood , life span’s were greatly reduced, However we see about 3,000 years after the time of Noah, Abraham lived 175 years, Genesis 25:7, Isaac lived 180 years Genesis 35: 28-29. Later on, before our modern age of medicine where the average age today is 80, it was common to only live to about 40 years old. At no time in history has the average life span of any generation been 120 years.

· It refers to Adam and God here is giving him just 120 years to repent before his breath is returned to God

This 120 year revelation is believed to have been given 810 years after sin had entered the human race and Adam did live to be 930 years old, Genesis 5:4. However we do not see anywhere in scripture that if Adam would have repented the stain of sin would have been removed from humanity as it had entered through Adam. We also see that the word “man” is written in the plural form and not the singular.

· The flood would start in 120 years

Noah was 500 years old when he begat Shem, Ham and Japheth, Genesis 5:32, after this God declared that His Spirit would not abide in man forever, then in Genesis 7:11 we read that In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep burst forth, and the windows of the heavens were opened. At first look this one seems to be the answer.

· It took Noah 120 years to build the ark

Noah’s sons were grown and married when God told him to build the ark, Genesis 6:18. Shem was a 100 years old 2 years after the flood, Genesis 11:10. These verses refute both the theories that the flood would start in a 120 years and it took a 120 years to build the ark.

No where does the Bible state that Genesis 6:3 is related to either Adam or the flood and however we try to fit it in, the 120 years does not work. Therefore we must search the Scriptures to find out what else fits the 120 year prophecy, remembering that Prophecy is never approximate but exact in its interpretation.

Just as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of Man. (Luke 17:26 ESV)

We must ask ourselves, why Christ pointed us to the portion of scriptures that talks about the flood. Yes, today we see every type of sin, corruption and immorality that was witnessed before the flood, but we also see it in Sodom and Gomorrah.

Just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire. (Jude 1:7 ESV)

The Bible shows us many examples of God’s righteous vengeance which can be related to our time. I believe that a deeper meaning was hidden till our time that we were not meant to see until now. It is something that would let us know when Lucifer’s reign of sin would finally come to an end.

In my personal prophecy studies to find answers that on the surface may seem impossible to answer I have studied many things, always bringing it all back to the Word of God. I was raised first as a Catholic in my younger years before we started attending the Pentecostal Church. I was raised with the futurist viewpoint of Prophecy but always found that some things taught just did not fit right with me. For the last few years I have been studying the historic aspects of Prophecy which I see as not an opposing view to the futurist, but as the two being as one whole. However, I still could not find answers to different aspects of Prophecy that bothered me for I always found that certain verses would throw doubt upon what I have been taught or studied. I have always believed that to interpret the Bible accurately, both the Old and New Testament must confirm any theory for it to be correct. This has led me into searching out the meaning and reasons for the feasts as God laid out to the Israelites.

In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at twilight, is the LORD's Passover. (Leviticus 23:5 ESV)

We can see the very keystone of Christianity is portrayed through the Passover/Feast of Unleavened Bread and declared by the Lord as an eternal feast. It commemorates the Exodus/deliverance in which the Israelites were freed from slavery. It also became fulfilled prophecy through Christ upon His crucifixion and when He became the first born (first fruit) from the grave. We also see the first day of Unleavened Bread as a foreshadowing of Christ decreed in Leviticus 23. It is a high day or holy day, from which we get our modern word holiday from.

And you shall observe the Feast of Unleavened Bread, for on this very day I brought your hosts out of the land of Egypt. Therefore you shall observe this day, throughout your generations, as a statute forever. (Exodus 12:17 ESV)

I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.” (John 6:51 ESV)

Many today say that those whom embrace the feasts are following the Law instead of Christ. However when we truly understand their deeper meanings, we find that through the Passover and Feast of Unleavened Bread we are in actuality, celebrating the very essence of God’s salvation plan as prophesied through the Jubilee calendar.

What is the Jubilee Calendar?

The Jubilee Calendar instead of being divided by 12 months as the Georgian calendar divides the year by solar cycles. The new moon rises about every 28 days, once every 4 week period which divides the agricultural year into 52 weeks of seven. Just as God created the earth in six days and in the 4th commandment declared the seventh day to be Holy, He also commanded that we were to let the land rest every seven years.

The ancient Hebrew Jubilee Year in scripture is a period of 50 years. And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you, when each of you shall return to his property and each of you shall return to his clan. (Leviticus 25:10 ESV)

The three annual feasts in Israel were closely linked with the farmer's cycle.

as the duty of each day required, offering according to the commandment of Moses for the Sabbaths, the new moons, and the three annual feasts—the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the Feast of Weeks, and the Feast of Booths. (2 Chronicles 8:13 ESV)

“Three times a year all your males shall appear before the LORD your God at the place that he will choose: at the Feast of Unleavened Bread, at the Feast of Weeks, and at the Feast of Booths. They shall not appear before the LORD empty-handed. (Deuteronomy 16:16 ESV)

Because of the fundamental importance of agriculture, the year was divided into 7 cycles of 49 days and festivals timed in relationship to the farmer and his needs. The agricultural year listed the months according to the tasks to be performed throughout the different periods of the year.

The Jubilee Calendar does not stop at the end of the agricultural year, but is a cycle of 7x7 equaling a 49 year calendar. Now along with the Sabbatical rest at the end of each agricultural seventh year cycle, we also have a Jubilee rest added on the 50^th year; therefore this is known as the 50 year cycle or calendar called a Jubilee year.

“And this shall be the sign for you: this year eat what grows of itself, and in the second year what springs of the same. Then in the third year sow and reap and plant vineyards, and eat their fruit. (2 Kings 19:29 ESV)

The Lord counts the first as the last and the last as the first, When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand on me, saying, “Fear not, I am the first and the last, (Revelation 1:17 ESV) Therefore we count in prophecy by the 49-year jubilee year, because the 50^th year being a Jubilee Rest, it is counted the same as the 1^st year in the new cycle.

It appears that the Jubilee Calendar fell out of favor and was no longer followed after Judea became conquered by Alexander the Great in 331 BCE and required to pay tribute/taxes, first to the Greeks then tightened under the subsequent rule of the Romans. Under the pressure of taxation, they began to only follow the unbroken cycle of 7th year. This is why the Jubilee 50 year cycle is only now coming to light again as God reveals the underlying principles behind prophecy.

Farmers of old knew the importance of resting cultivated land, this is the reason why they rotated crops, and every seventh year allowed the land to lie uncultivated so it could gather its strength for another six year round. In Revelation we have seven churches, seven golden lamp stands, seven stars, seven spirits of God, seven seals, seven horns with seven eyes, seven trumpets, seven thunders, seven diadems, seven angels with seven plagues, seven golden bowls and seven mountains. Seeing that the pattern of seven can be seen through all aspects of both our life and prophecy which has been so set forth by God from creation in Genesis to prophecy in Revelation, I believe it cannot be ignored. I see the seven principal as God’s way of counting time and for hidden clues to deciphering prophecy. This is yet another reason that I believe that we are in the last days and the millennium will be spent in heaven for as we approach the 6000 year mark since sin entered this world, by God’s divine calendar the earth must rest on the seventh.

But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. (2 Peter 3:8 ESV)

Through keeping the Sabbath and Jubilee years, we are reminded that we are God’s people and of His sovereign Lordship and provision over our entire daily needs. The Sabbatical years also teach us to trust in Him and of our duty to protect His creation as well as care for one another. Leviticus 25:1-7

Through this deep research into the Holy Days of the Jubilee Calendar that yes, I have a long way to go into fully understanding all its hidden meanings for it is so much deeper than many realize. I have come to the understanding that the blessings of the Feasts are the key to interpreting Biblical Prophecy.

The reason why many have never heard of the Jubilee Calendar before is because ancient dates have not been as precise as we are now able to determine them, therefore the sequence of dates that run through the Bible have remained vague. The Jubilee timeline has now been charted by Joseph Dumond who has written a book called, “The Prophecies of Abraham” which can be purchased or read on line on his website www.sightedmoon.com. He has come up with a detailed chart of all 120 Jubilee Calendar years since creation. He has determined through the dates that the Bible gives us as a starting point that the first Jubilee Cycle started in -3788 on the Gregorian calendar.

I believe that one of the reasons we are pointed in the direction of Noah and the flood by Christ is that Genesis 7:11, 8:4, 8:14 all line up with holy days on the Jubilee calendar.

In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep burst forth, and the windows of the heavens were opened. (Genesis 7:11 ESV) The rain began to fall during the watering cycle on the Agricultural Calendar.

And in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat (Genesis 8:4 ESV) which was during the time of Uproot/plucked and the last day of Feast of Booths/Tabernacles.

In the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth had dried out. (Genesis 8:14 ESV) from the beginning of the Flood until Noah and his family left the ark which was during the Abundance/Richness cycle, completing one Agricultural year on the Jubilee calendar.

Now considering that the flood dates line up with the Holy days on the Agricultural calendar and a Jubilee year is a period of 50 years, what can we learn from this?

Now that we have determined that a Jubilee year is 7x7 plus a Sabbatical rest equaling 50 years and the first cycle started in -3788, where does that put us today on God’s calendar when we have Prophecy that declares that “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” When we count the 120 years from -3788 by Sabbatical years we come up with the date 2044 which is just 32 years away.

And if those days had not been cut short, no human being would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short. (Matthew 24:22 ESV)

As I now see it, on the Prophetic clock we are less than 32 years away from the second coming of Christ, however this time will be cut short leaving us with even less time. When I first saw this date, my first reaction was that no way could things last that long for as we watch the signs that Christ told us to watch for, we are truly seeing them being fulfilled today. However, many of us tend to miss, All these are but the beginning of the birth pains. (Matthew 24:8 ESV)

Every generation has longed for Christ to return; we see the pain that sin has caused the world and long for the Promised Land. No one wants to go through the tribulation, but our hope in what lies on the other side gives us hope, so we just want to get the tribulation through with as one rips off a bandage. The faster we face it, the less it will hurt.

However in our anticipation of Christ’s quick return, we have left ourselves wide open for many deceptions. This is why I want to take this newsletter and concentrate on the many coming deceptions that many I fear are going to fall for. I have heard it prophesied that nineteen out of twenty Christians will fall for these deceptions, so every Friday with the help of the Holy Spirit; I will be looking at prophecy and current events more in the light of a warning, a deception. There are many different interpretations of Prophecy that all seem to come from the Bible, some are history repeating themselves, however many that are portrayed as truth are actually deceptions that we must be aware of. We must be fully aware that while we are looking at events happening that seem to be fulfilling prophecy, we do not fall for the deception that Lucifer wants us to see instead.

A mere 32 years from now as the furthest point that Christ will come back may seem ether too close or too far away depending on how you look at it. But before the great tribulation even starts, we will face many deceptions that Lucifer will throw our way. Too many believers today are under the impression that life will be going on as normal and just before anything bad starts happening, Christ will rapture them up. Under my new understanding of coming events, this debate should not even be on the table for first you have to get through all the deceptions that are coming and for those whom fall, it will not matter whether it is a pre, mid or a post tribulation rapture.

We must be careful not to get so caught up in anticipating exactly on what date Christ will return or when the Kingdom of Heaven shall be established, but to be sure of our own personal relationship with our Messiah. For many are called, but few are chosen.” (Matthew 22:14 ESV) Are you now intact with the Kingdom of God, is Christ a part of your heart and life here and now? In first establishing our priorities here and now, we can be assured that we will be under the protection of our Lord Jesus himself as we approach the many coming deceptions.

· As the first born of Egypt died, we are to die to sin, for only in Christ do we have power to die to the powers of sin.

· Where Adam and Eve sought the tree of Knowledge; we are to seek the Tree of Life. We live in an age of knowledge and alas, knowledge can turn our heart from seeking the benefits of spiritual life intended through Christ.

· Where Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread looked forward to Christ, we are to embrace Him as both the Passover Lamb as well as the Lamb of God that Died for our sins and rose from the grave. An attitude of mumbling and grumbling as the Jews so manifested in the desert can likewise hinder us from appropriating the true reality of Christ.

· As Christians we do not replace Israel, but are grafted into the fullness of the promises given to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Abiding in the vine that grafts us into Christ gives us the insurance that nothing will take you out of His loving protecting hands. Do we likewise show our love by following His commandments?

· As Israel spent 40 years in the desert before entering the Promised Land, we are now in the final stages before we enter the eternal Promised Land. Do you relate to the reality of Christ despite the lures of the day? Is the example that Christ put forth your daily response to trials and tribulations?

· As God both taught and protected the Israelites, He will also do for you as we get closer to and go through the Great Tribulation. God reaches out in love to protect us and deliver us from the powers of darkness.

· Jesus is not just our Lord in the Gospels but from Genesis to Revelation. We must believe in our heart and confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord so we shall be saved, but is He truly Lord over all expects of your life? Something we all need to face as the day of His return draweth nigh.

This is what salvation is all about.

Deception is everywhere; to be forewarned is to be forearmed. As an interesting note from next week’s newsletter, out of the ten plagues that hit Egypt, the last 7 plagues fell only upon Egypt and did not fall on the Israelites. I will compare this to the 7 Last Plagues of Revelation that will not fall on God's people. Note that this also indicates that God's people will still be here on this earth during the tribulation years. “Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees, until we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads.” (Revelation 7:3 ESV) May you be one of Gods sealed servants for woe unto them that are not for what they are about to face, they certainly are not prepared for.
